Has blogging from abroad become a cliché?

Maybe so. But guess what? I'm going to do it anyway. Whether you're reading this because you are my mother and want to check up on me whilst I gallivant around Europe some 5,000 miles away or you are one of my dear friends who is stuck in Peoria where it constantly smells like yeast and want to live vicariously through me, or even if you just happened to stumble upon this blog I hope you will enjoy it. I apologize ahead of time for any dumb jokes I will most certainly make and I hope you will excuse my occasional rants. Sometimes I tend to get a teeny bit excited.
So I haven't actually left for Spain yet, but I've really been waiting for this time to come since I was in high school. I've always loved traveling-I have 11 countries under my belt so far and I'm planning to accumulate quite a few more in the coming months. I have less than a month until I leave, so I'm just starting to get my life in order. My visa came in the mail today (SUCH a relief...) and my flight is booked! Packing for the trip is not quite underway yet (much to my mom's dismay) but I sure have been shopping. Christmas this year will be filled with visions of luggage, comfortable yet cute walking shoes, plane tickets and power converters.
I'm looking forward to documenting my whole trip so I can look back at it some day and be jealous of my 21-year-old traveling self. I am a novice blogger so feel free to leave any comments, questions or suggestions!
